TECHNICAL VISITS

VISIT I: PORT OF BUENOS AIRES

Friday, 11th September 2015. Time: 4:00pm to 6:00pm

BUENOS AIRES is the largest container cargo port in Argentina, with a throughput of about 1,000,000 TEU/year. Built in 1910 and located in the city center, the port receives overseas ships of over 300 meters in length and is currently working on the preliminary studies for its prompt renewal, for which it’s expected a $ 750 million investment in dredging and infrastructure. There are three operating container terminals subsidiaries of major worldwide companies.

The visit consists of a boat tour of the harbor, for which we will leave the Hotel at 4:00pm and will embark on a beautiful passenger ship at 4:30pm. On board drinks and refreshments will be served.

During the navigation you will receive a technical guidance from the port authority, which will illustrate the audience in the most relevant aspects of this important port station.
It’s estimated that the visit will be finished by 6:00pm.

VISIT II. PORT OF LA PLATA, TECPLATA TERMINAL

Saturday, 12th September 2015. Time: from 8:00am to 2:00pm.

Arancel: USD 40.-

TECPLATA is an important and modern container terminal with capacity for 500,000 TEU/year, recently built in the Puerto de la Plata, located 60 km to the south of Buenos Aires. The work required an investment of US$ 400 million dollars.

The visit consists of a presentation on the terminal, its design and construction process, and a subsequent tour of their facilities. Lunch and drink will be provided to attendees.
It’s estimated to leave the hotel at 8:00am and be back by 2:00pm.

VISIT III. TERMINAL ZARATE

SATURday, 12th September 2015 . Time: from 8:00am to 5:00pm

Arancel: USD 100.-

TERMINAL ZARATE is the most important vehicles terminal in the country located 90 Km to the north of Buenos Aires, over the Paraná de las Palmas Rivers. It has capacity to accommodate 61,000 CEU in over 150 acres and a small container terminal that moves around 100,000 TEU/year.

The visit consists of a presentation on the terminal and a subsequent tour of their facilities. Lunch and drink will be provided to attendees.

The return will be done through a 4 hour-navigation through the Paraná de las Palmas River, embarked on a modern passenger boat. Attendees will be able to enjoy the beautiful views of the Parana River, the main navigable river in the country and a lot of the port facilities built on its banks.
It’s estimated to leave the hotel at 8:00am and be back by 5:00pm.
